Brad Pitt's Cliff Booth Returns: Fincher's Netflix Film Gets IMAX Run Nov. 25
Brad Pitt is set to return as stuntman-turned-fixer Cliff Booth in The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, the David Fincher film that Netflix will open in IMAX theaters worldwide on November 25 before it lands on the streaming service on December 23. Netflix released a trailer for the film on September 21, 2026, and new publicity material keeps the movie in the spotlight as its release approaches.
Release plan
| Window | Date |
|---|---|
| IMAX theaters worldwide (exclusive, two weeks) | November 25 |
| Netflix streaming | December 23 |
According to Netflix and trade coverage, it is the first Netflix movie to be released in IMAX theaters around the world, which makes the exclusive two-week theatrical run a notable step for the streamer. Netflix lists the runtime at 2 hours 21 minutes.
Story and creative team
The film is directed by David Fincher from a new script by Quentin Tarantino. It is set in Los Angeles in 1977, eight years after the events of Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. Pitt reprises Cliff Booth, who is now working as a fixer for powerful people rather than as a stunt performer. Pitt and Ceán Chaffin are producers. Behind the camera are cinematographer Erik Messerschmidt, editor Kirk Baxter and production designer Donald Graham Burt.
Cast
Elizabeth Debicki plays talent agent Karen Crosby, Scott Caan plays TV star Charlie Peters, Carla Gugino plays Toni and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays Roderick "Hot Rod" Harrison. Matt Groove and JB Tadena appear as the Verdusco brothers, and the cast also includes Peter Weller, Corey Fogelmanis and Karren Karagulian.
For U.S. audiences the practical takeaway is simple: anyone who wants to see the film on the largest screens has a two-week window starting November 25, while everyone else can wait for the Netflix premiere a month later. Details such as showtimes and the list of participating theaters will be announced through IMAX and local cinemas.
